Junk to appear on local cd

Fans of Junk Deluxe are getting excited at the prospect of being able to purchase the first commercial release of junk deluxe material in shetland. The epic prog rock tune 'dissolve' written by frontman sven will be appearing on a local compilation cd entitled 'blarin troo da isles'. The cd is being released by young enterprise company from brae high school and will feature other distinguished and less distinguished artists from the Shetland rock scene. All proceeds from the cd will be going to charity, so go and buy it as the obligatory stocking filling present for someone you dont like.

Charity Performance

Junk Deluxe made a surprise appearance supporting Shetland music icons Bongshang last night at the norscot angling club. the concert was a charity gig to raise funds for Medicin Sans Frontieres work in Sudan and Uganda. a sell out crowd seen Junk Deluxe joined by michael williamson to perform four Nomad songs, michael then departed and Junk De finished their set by performing the drongs theme tune to rapturous applause.

Halloween Treat

Junk Deluxe will be performing a special halloween horror set this Saturday at the dreaded norscot angling club. Before the rock monsters take the stage there will be a quiz night followed by a curry meal. it is also a fancy halloween dress evening for anyone who feels in need of a drastic image change. If that wasnt enough norscot legend les scott will also be present for a truly frightening halloween experience. What more could you ask for in a night out?

Junk Deluxe were in action last Saturday night at the north star and were joined by special guest Mani on bass. The Stone Roses legend joined the Junk De to perform the indie anthems 'i wanna be adored' and 'made of stone' to an ecstatic north star crowd. The former Junk Deluxe side project Nomad also made a shock appearance as singer Seth Gittens returned to the isles to join the festivities. Dont worry if you missed out as you will be able to catch Junk Deluxe performing their extended set this Thursday night at captain flints from 10pm til 1am.

Mani to join junk deluxe!

Manchester indie legend Mani is alledged to be joining junk deluxe this saturday to perform a few tunes after requesting to play with Shetlands finest rock trio. Mani who earlier turned down the opportunity this week to play with former bandmate from the stone roses singer Ian Brown,is said to be excited at the prospect of playing in Shetland. Junk Deluxe bassist david is rumoured to be playing lead guitar to make room for Mani to play the bass for the evening,while sven will be concentrating on his singing duties. Mani will also be perfoming his solo dj set on the same night, so dont miss out and get yourself to the north star this saturday.

Junk de to host open mic night

It has been confirmed that junk deluxe will be hosting 'upstairs at moonies' first ever open microphone night. so any wannabe rockstars or fellow musicians out there, are more than welcome to come to moonies this thursday( the14th) and showcase their talent. equipment is kindly provided by junk deluxe and if playing isnt your forte then you can always come and treat your ears to audio bliss by listening to junk de in action.

Junk de storm the death star

Junk deluxe made a shock appearance at the north star night club supporting the novelty pogues tribute band 'the brogues'. Lead singer sven macalpine was told about the gig a week in advance but due to the demeaning and insignificant nature of the gig sven forgot about the booking until the day of the concert. However this wasnt an issue to junk de, who soon got on their rock boots and took the packed north star by storm with their classic anthems 'the drongs' and 'interzone'. After the gig singer sven was punished for his memory loss by being forced to work behind the bar.
